Plein Air Weekend Workshop in the Yarra Valley— 2-Day Workshop with Kayleen West

Saturday 26th September and Sunday 27th September
8:00am – 3:00pm

Experience two inspiring days of en plein air painting in the beautiful Yarra Valley with artist and tutor Kayleen West. This workshop is designed for artists who already paint and want to explore plein air for the first time, or for those wishing to strengthen their skills painting in the elements.

Building on the principles of Kayleen’s Capturing Light workshop, participants will explore how value, colour, and thoughtful simplification can create luminous, mood?filled paintings. Pastel will be the primary medium, but artists working in other materials are warmly welcomed.

Across the two days, you will:

· Paint on location at scenic Yarra Valley sites

· Learn to simplify complex scenes and build strong compositions

· Explore expressive mark making and intentional colour choices

· Develop strategies for capturing changing light outdoors

· Create a final artwork with personalised guidance

Day One focuses on foundations, observation, and playful exploration. Day Two brings everything together as you develop a resolved plein air piece/s.
